Well, my ex wife and me aren’t getting along that well and a friend of hers (new boyfriend perhaps) has her hating me for every little thing. Enough of that.
So we agree we should sell and part ways.
Well, she had her friend take her to an office and they talked to an agent. The agent looked up the value and gave my ex a price. the house needs a little done and the agent has not seen anything yet. Just a price at her desk and I think my ex, pushed by her friend signed something.
Now my ex tells me that since i am part owner, of course I need to sign as well and then the agent will look at the house.
Am I missing something? My ex is not the best in English and tends to be persueded quite easily and will believe anything somebody tells her (except me)
Why would I need to sign something BEFORE an agent actually looks at our house? To me it sounds like she is being pushed to sign a listing agreement but thinks I’m crazy for bringing that up. I agreed to go with her to the office but I don’t believe in signing anything until we plan to use a particular agent. I want to talk to a couple. House is a typical 1/4 acre 2/3 1200 sq ft in a very safe community close to a vacation town.
Am I the stupid and uninformed one or is she. This guy Shes working with, I think is here illegally (she is not) and she believes he knows all about everything and how these things work. Because he is a handiman and works on houses so of course knows all there is about selling houses.
Ideas?
thanks
