Realtor’s commission rate explanation

I recently sold my house and bought another and am trying to understand why realtors get such a huge commission. Her share was 2% of the house I sold and 2% of house I bought. She showed me three houses to pick from to buy and my house was sold in 2 days. In total she might have spent 10 hours with me to sell one and buy another. She did no effort to sell my house, just put it on the MLS and it was sold. I know every transaction isn’t like this but she made $12k walking around a couple houses and doing paper work??? I know she has a bit of over head owning her own business but still seems like she’s due about $500 for a days work
