Here’s a bit of a back story…My partner sold his home, that he loved, 4 years ago, so we could buy a home together. The house at the time needed a ton of work. The new owners are now selling the house and they put a lot of money into updating it. The house looks great! My partner misses the house terribly and over the last year I have really started to understand how attached he is to it. Our current home is fine, but a headache to maintain due to the large property, but had no plans to sell, that is until this house was listed and I can’t think about anything else.
We will most likely profit minimum 100k if we sell but we have absolutely nothing in place (pre approval, realtor, etc) and I know we will have to scramble. Our house is not ready to show and the stress of getting it ready while buying scares me. Ideally I would like to keep the home until we close on the new one so looking into bridge loans.
I would love to hear from others that unexpectedly found themselves buying and how they dealt with it.
